BACKGROUND

1. Air Vice Marshal Dominic Nwandi Danat was born on 21 April 1967. He was commissioned pilot officer in the Nigerian Air Force on 10 September 1988 and rose to his current rank in September 2022. Danat is a seasoned Logistician by specialty.

DECORATIONS AND AWARDS

2. The senior officer holds MSc in Strategic, Defence, Security, Conflicts and Disaster Management and Postgraduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management from the University of Yaounde. Earlier, as a cadet, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. The Senior officer also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, Nigeria.

3. The senior officer has attended several military and professional courses. These include the Junior and Senior Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Nigeria. He attended the Initial Supply Officers Course, at Air Force Institute of Technology, Supply Management Officers Course, G – 222 Technology Supply Course, Italy, Partnership Aviation Capacity Course, USA, Advanced Procurement Course, South Africa and Defence Combined Superior Course, Cameroon. He equally attended numerous expositions, seminars and workshops within and outside Nigeria.

4. AVM Danat has held several appointments in various units/establishments spanning field and staff appointments. These include Acting Commanding Officer SSW, 453 Base Services Group, Military Assistant to the Commandant, Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Assistant Director of Supply, Headquarters Air Training Command, Commanding Officer TSW, 631 ACMD, Commanding Officer Log Wg, 301 HAG, Assistant Direct of Supply Plans, HQ NAF (DOL), Deputy Director Technology Supply, HQ NAF, Commanding Officer BSW, 053 NAF Camp, Director of Logistics, HQ NAF, Director of Logistics, NDA, CLO, HQ MC and Commander 643 ESD. He is currently appointed as Chief of Logistics Branch, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Abuja.

5. AVM Danat is married and blessed with children. He enjoys reading news magazines, badminton and watching football.
